WIP supports the mobile development ecosystem by encouraging discussions, co-creation and exchange. WIP has an active community-driven site that was a patchwork of different platforms and frameworks: a custom Wiki built on CodeIgniter, ExpressionEngine 2, and legacy PHP files. The site was difficult to extend and manage, and its performance substandard, sometimes taking several seconds for a single page load. WIP chose Factory Interactive to completely rebuild the WIP website on ExpressionEngine 2. We reengineered its templates, optimized the site on several levels, integrated the Google Maps API, migrated all content to a fresh database, and moved it to a reliable host. The results are remarkable: the site's page load time is two-thirds faster, and updating the site's system is easy and relatively quick. WIP has subsequently added modules to enhance its offering, expand reach, and  generate revenue.
